Obituary for Rita Romano (D'Amato) Coppola
Rita L. Romano (D'Amato) Coppola, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2016 in Connecticut Hospice Branford. She was the beloved wife of her first husband Mario Romano and second husband Dan Coppola. She was born on December 6, 1930 to Lawrence and Carmela D'Amato, and was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport.
Rita was quite the extravagant lady. She was always dressed to the nines. She loved to travel, read, and relax in the sun, and also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.
Survivors include her only child, Craig Romano Sr. and his wife Kimberly of Stratford; three grandchildren, Leanne Ready and her husband Christopher, Craig Romano Jr and his fiancé, Brittany Shackett and Amy Romano; two great grandchildren, Myles and Nora Ready; her loving sister, Dorothy Garamella and her devoted nephew and nieces Chris, Dina and Lynn Garamella along with many more nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Tommy and Al and sisters, Angie and Antoinette.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00AM in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street in Stratford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery. Friends may greet her family from 10:00 to 11:00.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Rita to CT Hospice in Branford, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
