Obituary for Amy (Stumbris) Truman
Amy (Stumbris) Truman, age 43, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Jeremy Truman, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by family.

Amy was born June 2, 1975 in Bridgeport, daughter of Vincent and Elizabeth “Betty” (Kozlowski) Stumbris of Stratford.

Amy lived with joy; engaging in life as a mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a fierce advocate for civic engagement and service to others. Despite the challenges of living with ALS, Amy was a leader for her family and in her community.

She enjoyed and excelled at coordinating her sons’ involvement in school activities, soccer, and scouting.  On November 8th, the day marking the 5 year anniversary of being diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease), Amy wrote: “My life today is not what I could have imagined, but it is a life worth living. I am loved, I am needed, I am generally happy and I am contributing to my world around me.” Her beautiful smile was present right up through Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas tree decorating with her family.

Amy graduated from UMASS Amherst with a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel, Restaurant, Travel, and Tourism Management. For much of her career she was employed in information technology for Marriott Hotels, and for the last five years at Datto.

Survivors, in addition to her husband and parents, include her cherished sons Maximilian Vincent Truman and Nathan Bowie Truman of Trumbull; her brother Steven Stumbris, his wife Margot Vigeant and their sons Gabriel and Simon Stumbris all of Lewisburg, PA; her sister Michelle (Stumbris) Glanville, her husband Terry and their children Olivia and Vincent Glanville all of North Granby, CT; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 3:00pm in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford, CT.

Friends may visit with the family before service time from 12:00pm to 3:00pm in the Funeral home.
