Obituary for Anthony Joseph Petitte
Anthony Joseph Petitte, age 83, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Joan (Cary) Petitte and Ethel R. (Sperry) Saunders Petitte, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 in Stratford.
Mr. Petitte was born September 14, 1934 in Bridgeport, son of the late Leonard and Philomena (DeLuca) Petitte and had been a lifetime area resident.Â
He was a retired Histologist for Bridgeport Hospital and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed camping, golfing and bowling, telling one-liners and spending time at his vacation home in Myrtle Beach. In his younger days, he coached Pop warner football and little league. Â
Survivors include his two daughters, Andrea Petitte and her companion Rich, of Greenwich and Toni-Lynn (his main care giver) of Stratford; two grandchildren, Joseph DuRivage and Stephanie Logan and her husband Pierce; one great granddaughter, Avery; his brother Lenard Petitte and several nieces and nephews.Â
He will also be missed by his pup, Margaret.
The family would also like thank his aide Craig, and the staff of both Masonic Health Care of Newtown and the VA Hospital for their kind and professional care.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
Interment will be private.
Friends may visit with his family Tuesday before service time from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to either the West Haven VA Memorial Fund, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT, 06516 or the Alzheimer Association, 2075 Silas Dean Highway, Rocky Hill, Connecticut 06067.
