Obituary for Barbara Langhammer
Barbara Corso Langhammer, age 78, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Robert Langhammer went with the angels to be with God, her mother and her father Monday, September 16, 2013 in Saint Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mrs. Langhammer was born June 14, 1935 in the Bronx, New York, daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Sorensen) Dolzani and had been a long time area resident. Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, Fairfield and worked for SNET/ATT for over 30 years until her retirement. She was member of SNET’s Quarter Century Club and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She volunteered and received great pleasure in her involvement and membership in the Raymond Goldbach VFW Post 9460 Ladies Auxiliary, where she wore many hats, from president to chairperson for many different functions. Barbara also worked part time at Stern Village, a job she truly loved. Barbara touched many lives, was a great mom, a great wife, best nauney, best grammie and a great friend. Barbara is survived by her five loving children, Barbara Langnehs and her husband Lou, of Tallahassee, Florida, Cathy Corso-White and her husband Harvey of Hamden, Russell Corso and his companion Lisa Dunn of Trumbull, James Corso and his wife La Nell of Derby and Patricia Webster of Colo, Iowa; four sisters, Marylou, Terri, Donna and Robbie; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also adored and leaves behind her two cats, Molly and Emily. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the intensive care unit of Saint Vincent Medical Center, especially Nurse Ann. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday September 20, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, and at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Catherine of Siena’s Church, Shelton Road, Trumbull for a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
