Obituary for Beverly (Colby) Chace
Beverly (Colby) Chace, age 79, of Stratford, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 2, 2015 in the Arden House Nursing Facility, Hamden. Mrs. Chace was born February 21, 1936 in Taunton, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Albion and Verna (Barker) Colby and had been a longtime Stratford resident.
Beverly was retired from Stop & Shop and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a longtime member of the Stratford United Methodist Church and especially enjoyed singing in their choir. She loved her pets but mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, William H. Chace and his wife Ann, of East Haven and Jeffery Chace of West Virginia; one daughter Barbara Chace-Plude of Ansonia; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine, Michelle, Sean, Autumn, Rebecca, Kelly, Hayley, Rachel, David and Elizabeth; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lorraine Macri and Marilyn Stephens.
Friends are invited to visit with her family Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by the Reverend Simeon Law, Pastor, Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main St, Stratford, CT . Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Beverly may be made to the Stratford United Methodist Church Choir, 2600 Main St, Stratford, CT 06615.
