Obituary for Bob E. Peel
Bob E. Peel, age 83, of Stratford, beloved husband of the predeceased Eileen (Middleton) Peel, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2021 in the Shelton Lakes nursing facility. Bob, a long time area resident, was born January 14, 1938 in Bridgeport to the late Walter and Anna (Kriss) Peel. He was predeceased by his sister, Frances Peel.
Bob, a retired Service Technician for Nutmeg Business Machines led a very fulfilling life. He was the absolute life of the party and to know him was to love him. He was a lifetime enthusiast of Harley Davidsons and President of the Bridgeport Harley Owners Group for many years, doing multiple charity rides, especially Toys for Tots. Along with Harleys, Bob was a devoted husband for over fifty years to Eileen. They enjoyed their monthly “Dining Out” club with close friends and traveling together. He also loved spending countless hours at the beach and spending time with his family.
He will, unequivocally, be missed by his survivors, including his daughter Luanne Sciongay and her husband Eugene of Dexter, Maine; three grandchildren, Jamie Bachman and his wife Tiffany of Shelton, Jarrett Sciongay and his wife Cynthia of Danbury and Shane Sciongay of Dexter, Maine; three great-grandchildren, Cadence, Rylan and Jarrett Jr "JJ" and countless friends who loved Bob like family.
Although he is no longer with us, the legacy of “Gran Bob” will undoubtedly live on forever. He and Eileen had one hell of a ride! Until we meet again….
Friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday, December 27th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. All other services are private.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation, parkinson.org.
