Obituary for Carol Ann Borowski
Carol (Honafius) Borowski, age 85, of Stratford passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Ernest Borowski who passed away in 2009.
Carol was born in Lebanon, Pa., on October 1, 1936, daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Zimmerman) Honafius.
She moved to Stratford Connecticut with her parents, four brothers and two sisters in 1955 when she was 18 years old. Carol loved and passionately cared for her parents, siblings, and extended family her entire life. Her family and friends will miss her generosity and devotion, incredible memory, magnificent storytelling, supportive nature, and tireless work ethic.
Carol leaves behind her sister Jean Sibick of Bridgeport, brother Robert Honafius of Meriden, brother Donald Honafius and his wife Shirley of Naugatuck, and brother Paul Honafius and his wife Margie of Stratford. She also leaves behind seven nieces, six nephews and their children. She was like a second mother to all of them.
She was predeceased by her brother Charles Honafius of Naugatuck, sister Diane Klansky of Stratford, niece Dorothy Lynn (Eannotti) LaConte of Stratford, niece Kathleen Eannotti of Bridgeport, and niece Jessica Honafius of Derby.
We have lost the Matriarch of our family, but we are confident her eternal spirit lives on in heaven.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford.
Interment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
Friends may visit with her family on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
