Obituary for Charles J. Luchun
Charles J. Luchun, age 74, of Stratford, beloved husband of Maureen (McManus) Luchun, passed away at his home on Monday, May 2, 2016 in Stratford. Mr. Luchun was born June 24, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York, and was the son of the late Charles V. and Ida (Lembo) Luchun.
Mr. Luchun was a graduate of The City College of New York and went on to receive his Master's Degree in Engineering from The University of Bridgeport. He was retired from AVCO Lycoming and was the Owner/Operator of Charles Luchun Engineering. Throughout his life, Mr. Luchun was an avid Brooklyn Dodger fan. He enjoyed traveling, photography, tinkering in his workshop and spending time with his family.
He was blessed by his three children, Michael Luchun and his wife Christine of Glocester, RI, Kevin Luchun and his wife Kelli of Thomaston, CT, and Karen McElroy and her husband Paul of Scotland, CT. He took pride and joy in his six grandchildren, Kelly, Abigail, Margaret, Katherine, Adelaide and Broderick. He is also survived by two brothers, Joel Luchun and his wife Gertrude of Binghamton, NY and Philip Luchun and his wife Karen of East Brunswick, NJ; a sister-in-law, Joan Luchun of Ballwin, MO and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Abigail and brother, Robert.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford, CT. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St. Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Hasbro Children's Hospital, c/o the Rehabilitation Unit, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903.
