Obituary for Charles J. Soukup
Charles J. Soukup, age 77, of Tennessee, previously of Connecticut and New York, passed away suddenly July 23, 2021 in Tennessee. Mr. Soukup was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 24, 1943, son of the late Charles F. and Elizabeth Gdovin Soukup.
Charles was a master concrete finisher. He enjoyed purchasing and clearing land for development in Connecticut, New York, Florida and Tennessee. He also enjoyed attending antique car auctions in Hershey Pennsylvania, the Daytona 500 races in Florida and dining with friends at Ruth Chris Restaurants. He had a unique talent for locating properties overlooked by others, that had great potential for development. His ultimate target was curb appeal.
Survivors include his three children, Joseph Soukup, Christine Hosking and Charlie “Chaz” David Soukup; his sister Joan Shaw and several aunts, uncles, cousins nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit with his family on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT.
Interment and funeral services celebrated by Deacon John Piatak will follow at 11:00 am in Union Cemetery.
