Obituary for Craig A. Roy
ROY - Craig A. Roy, age 51 of Windsor, CT and previously of Stratford, beloved father of Matthew and Kayleigh Roy of Wallingford, CT, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 in St. Frances Hospital, Hartford, surrounded by his loving children and family. Mr. Roy was born December 1, 1962 in Bridgeport, son of Allen Roy of Stratford and the late Barbara (Smith) Roy and had been a lifetime Connecticut resident. He was a 20 year United States Air Force Veteran, having served his country in the Gulf War and was employed as an aircraft mechanic for Pratt & Whitney. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and was an avid fan of both the New York Mets and the New England Patriots. The time he enjoyed most was spent with his children, especially watching his son’s football games and his daughter's dance recitals. Survivors, in addition to his children and father, include his sister Robyn McHale and her husband Brian; three nieces Ashley Conder and her husband Stephen; Shannon McHale and Courtney McHale; one great niece and one great nephew all of Stratford and his former wife Shelly (Murray) Roy of Wallingford. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service (TODAY) Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. Interment with military honors will be private. Friends may visit with the family Sunday before service time from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Craig’s memory may be made in trust for his children through the funeral home.
