Obituary for Denise Eileen 'Nisi' O'Connor
O'Connor - Denise Eileen 'Nisi' O'Connor, age 81, of Stratford, CT, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 in the Lord Chamberlain Nursing Facility, Stratford. Miss O'Connor was born May 29, 1933 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Daniel J. and Marie (Arsenault) O'Connor and had been a lifetime area resident. She was a retired teacher and a member of the Stratford Board of Education. She was a 1955 Graduate of The Diocesan Sisters College and received her Master's Degree from St. Joseph’s College. She is survived by two devoted nieces Marybeth (O’Connor) Slusser and Lauren (O’Connor) D'Amato; her nephew Daniel J. O’Connor III and several grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Daniel J. O’Connor Jr.; sister Elizabeth (O'Connor) Halliwell and nephew Michael E. O'Connor. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly at St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Friends may visit with the family Friday evening from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either the Thomas Merton House, 43 Madison Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604 or The Sisters of Mercy, 55 East Cedar Street, Newington, CT 06611.
