Serving Our Community Since 1951Dinora M. (Vazquez) Pedron, age 91, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Heberto Pedron passed away Monday, January 22, 2024. Mrs. Pedron was born in Mayari, Oriente, Cuba on July 20, 1932, daughter of the late Pedro and Blanca (Almira) Vazquez and had been a longtime area resident.
Dinora’s friends and family will remember her as a sweet, caring person who would whip up a meal in minutes for any unexpected guest at her door. Her family meant everything to her and she was most happy when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her family Sunday dinners were never mandatory but hardly ever missed with any extra dinner guests treated as part of the family. Birthdays were special days where the honored person had their favorite meal served. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and especially doting on her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana. Nana had sleepovers, sewing lessons and cooking dates with them and as they grew older offered advice and support when they called with a problem. She was an incredible mother who worked tirelessly in order to provide the best for her children. She was an amazing wife and partner who in time of illness took care of her husband, Heberto, with unwavering dedication.
Dinora knew she was surrounded by love in her final hour. Before her last breaths were taken, she opened her eyes and smiled. A smile that reached her eyes and lit up her face. Her final gift was a peaceful and beautiful ending.
Survivors include her three children, Heberto Pedron Jr., Herlan Pedron and his wife Nancy and Helga Bowen and her husband Kim; five grandchildren, Alana Barba and her husband Adam, Marisa Pedron, Kara Bowen, Nathan Bowen and Jillian Bowen; two great grandchildren, Anderson and Joscelyn Barba and several nieces, nephews and extended family in Cuba.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton, CT. Interment will be private.
