Obituary for Donald Reaney
REANEY - Donald Reaney, age 88 of Stratford, beloved husband of Irene (Papcun) Reaney, entered eternal life Friday, February 28, 2014, in The Masonic Healthcare Facility, Wallingford, CT. Mr. Rainey was born May 8, 1925 in Bridgeport, son of the late Ernest and Clara Reaney and had been a lifetime area resident. Don was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, Pacific Theatre, a retired Stratford Fire Fighter, and the proud owner of Stratford Shire Lawn Service for 35 years. He was also a member of America’s-St John’s Lodge Number 8 and a member of The Royal Order of Jesters. Don had a great love for the water especially sailing. Survivors in addition to his wife include his three children, Jeffrey Reaney and his wife Gabriella of Stratford, Pamela Demchak of Wallingford and Holly Scott and her husband David of New Hampshire and five grandchildren, Lauren Demchak, Michael Demchak, Samantha Scott, Andrew Scott and Brianna Marcucio. Private funeral services are scheduled. Charitable donations in Donald’s memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of Stratford, 2301 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615.
