Obituary for Dorothea Creed
Dorothea Creed, age 97, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late William Creed, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2020. Mrs. Creed was born January 18, 1923 in Danzig, Poland, daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Zirotzki) Lademann.
Dorothea was a retired chef from The Town Restaurant in New Canaan. She enjoyed cooking, the ocean and long walks along the beach plus gardening and traveling and was an avid “New York Post” reader.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Linda Bako-Smith and her husband James of Stratford; grandchildren Peter Bako of Alexandria, VA and Cristine Bako-Marks of Stratford; great-grandchildren Spencer and Trevor Marks of Stratford and Hayden and Zachary Bako of Alexandria, VA. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service celebrated by Lay Speaker Nelson Jones on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615. Friends may visit with her family Saturday before service time from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Merton House or your local soup kitchen.
