Obituary for Edward F. Fenton
Edward F. Fenton, Sr. age 95, long time Trumbull and Fairfield resident before a move to Wallingford, beloved husband of the late Anne (Brannelly) Fenton passed away Thursday, September 30, in the Masonic Care Facility, Wallingford, CT. Mr. Fenton was born in Bridgeport, November 30, 1925, son of the late John and Marie (Farrell) Fenton.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and a retired Data Processing Manager for the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep & Fairfield University. He enjoyed spending time with his extensive family, a good pipe, the Yankees, trips to Mohegan Sun and eating at diners. His faithful companion for many years was his Jack Russell Terrier, Rex. He was also very proud of his Irish heritage, his World War II service and being a member of the Red Cross 25+ gallon blood donor club.
Survivors include his children, Gerarda Kull and her husband Thomas, Patrick Fenton and his wife Leslie, Edward Fenton, Jr. and his wife Noreen, Daniel Fenton and his wife Cindy: 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Mary Christine Cady, son-in law Lee Cady, grandson Matthew Cady, his brothers, George Fenton and John Fenton and sister, Sister John Marita.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in the Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave, Trumbull, CT 06611.
Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown, CT.
Friends may visit with his family Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to, the Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org, where he was a long time donor.
