Obituary for Edward Kozlowski
KOZLOWSKI - Edward R. Kozlowski, age 86, beloved husband of 64 years to Josephine (Plessl) Kozlowski of Uncasville, CT and previously of Southport, CT, entered eternal life Tuesday, December 30, 2013 in Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London, CT. Mr. Kozlowski was born December 20, 1927 in the Bronx, New York, son of the late John and Josephine (Lisinski) Kozlowski. Edward, a United States Marine Veteran of World War II, married Josephine in 1950 and moved to Southport in 1961. He was a Tool and Die Maker by trade and along with his brother, Matthew, owned and operated Karel Industries, Inc. in New Rochelle NY from 1960 to 1976. He then worked as Design Engineer for Micromatic Fabrication Inc., in Stamford where he designed prototypes for Cuisinart food processors until his retirement in 1989. He moved from Southport to Uncasville in 1998 and worked in Security at Mohegan Sun Casino until very recently. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Betty Stumbris and her husband Vincent of Stratford, Jeanne Arcoma and her husband Peter of Seymour, CT, and Edward Kozlowski and his wife Michelle of Colchester, CT; one sister, Helen O’Connor of Long Island; six grandchildren, Steven Stumbris and his wife Margot, Amy Truman and her husband Jeremy, Peter Arcoma and his wife Lauren, Melissa Clark and her husband Stephen, Michelle Stumbris and Joseph Arcoma; six great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Simon, Max, William, Nathan and Charlotte and several nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Matthew. Friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford, CT 06615. Friends may visit with the family Saturday before service time from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Kozlowski may be made to The American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
