Serving Our Community Since 1951Mrs. Harrity was born May 31, 1919 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late William and Kathryn (Andelfinger) McAndrew and had been a lifetime area resident.Â
She was a graduate of the Butler Business School and a retired office manager for Haven Manufacturing. Â She was a devoted parishioner of Saint James Church, a member of the Baldwin Center, the Gaelic American Club and the Red Hat Ladies, and an ardent NY Mets fan. Â Eileen enjoyed most of all visiting with friends and family.Â
Eileen is survived by her four children, Mary-Kathryn Harrity of Norwalk, Patricia Nicholas and her husband Dave of New Milford, Alyce Pine and her husband Steve of Caney City, TX and John W. Harrity and his wife Cindy of East Hartland; three grandchildren, Kevin Nicholas and his wife Kathryn, Caroline Marquez and her husband Roberto, and Caitlin Harrity; four great grandchildren: Lucas and Lila Nicholas, and Manny and Leo Marquez.Â
She was predeceased by two grandsons, John B. Harrity and Nicholas Harrity, and her brother, George McAndrew.Â
Eileen had the ability to make people feel as if there was nowhere else she would rather be than where she was, and no one else she would rather be with at that moment. Â She will be sorely missed, by so many.Â
Friends may visit with her family Monday, June 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford or on Tuesday, June 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 am in the funeral home.Â
Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Rogerio Perri on Tuesday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.Â
