Obituary for Eileen Bender
Eileen Rita (Killian) Bender, age 60, of Stratford, entered eternal peace on Saturday, March 15, 2014. She passed peacefully at home after a lengthy illness with her family at her side. Eileen was born in Bridgeport on January 31, 1954. She was the beloved wife of Frank Bender and the mother of twin sons, Luke of Stratford and Zachary of Philadelphia, PA. She was the stepmother of Scott Bender and his wife Tember of Monroe. Eileen is also survived by her father, Robert C. Killian of Trumbull and her siblings, Bonnie Cagganello, Judith Hampel and her husband Robert, Robert D. Killian, all of Stratford, Timothy Killian and his wife Debra of Trumbull and several nieces and nephews. Eileen worked as a Registered Nurse for many years and was a talented gardener. She enjoyed her book and investment clubs and her house was adorned with collections of tins, baskets and bears. Eileen loved to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and private services were held on that day with the immediate family. Eileen and her fun-loving ways will be deeply missed by family and friends.
