Obituary for Eileen 'Janie' Keane
KEANE - Eileen 'Janie' Keane, age 85, of Stratford, entered eternal rest Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. Miss Keane was born in Bridgeport August 16, 1928, daughter of the late John J. Keane Sr. and Alice (McTernan) Keane and resided in Stratford most of her life. Janie was a retired supervisor with the State of CT Childrens Services after 33 years of service. She was also employed at the former Mechanics and Farmers Bank and United Home Care. She was a member of the Catholic-Daughters of America, Court St. Cecelia # 735, the Ladies of Ancient Order of Hibernians, Mae King Division and the Gaelic American Club. Survivors include a brother Richard Keane and his wife Lynne; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Janie was predeceased by a brother Jack Keane and four sisters Ann Mallory, Peggy Marx, Catherine 'Kate' Keane and Mary Alice Tickey. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2110 Main St, Stratford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
