Obituary for Eleanor (Krause) McCabe
Eleanor V. (Krause) McCabe, age 95, of the Lordship section of Stratford, beloved wife of the late John Henry McCabe passed away peacefully in her home, Wednesday, July 13, 2022. Mrs. McCabe was born May 2, 1927, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Charles and Victoria (Dzialo) Krause and had been a lifelong area resident.
Eleanor was a retired teacher in the Bridgeport School System with 25 years of service. She married John McCabe in 1947 and were wed for 20 years, until his death at the age of forty-five. She received her early education in the Bridgeport School System and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1944. Eleanor continued her education with a B.S. from New York University (NYU) and an M.S. in Education from the University of Bridgeport.
She leaves behind her beloved family, two sons Gerard (Pamela) and Patrick (Alona) McCabe; five grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Brian and Lauren McCabe and Destiny (Jason) Warmuth; three great-grandchildren, Caleb McCabe, Chloe and Abriella Warmuth and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. by meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford CT.
Interment will be private.
