Mrs. Vagasky was born September 6, 1930 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (Sakowitz) Kaminski and was a long time Stratford resident.

She also volunteered in many other capacities at the West Haven VA Hospital including their Bingo. When her children were small, she was very active in St. James School and volunteered for recess and lunch duty. Also, along with her husband, she was instrumental in the construction of the Stratford WWII Memorial on Academy Hill, Stratford.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her daughter, Carol Ann Plichta and her husband, Ted of Nebraska; four grandchildren, Bradley Vagasky, Andrew Vagasky, Michelle Belanger and Lisa Belanger; a sister, Irene Carter and her husband James of Trumbull and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Vagasky.
