Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" White
Elizabeth "Betty" (Hancock) White, age 92, beloved wife of the late Wilfred H. White of Lordship, entered eternal life on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Betty was born in Boston, MA on March 31, 1923, daughter of the late Charles and Matilda (Carroll) Hancock. She was a lifelong resident of Stratford and retired from Warnaco. An avid gardener to the end, she enjoyed working in the garden every day watering and caring for the lawn and flowers. She was a devout Catholic and put her family above all else. She is survived by three devoted daughters Donna White of Bridgeport, Diane and Jack Mayer of Brunswick, OH and Beverly and Carl Lagerfeldt of Stratford; seven cherished grandchildren Faye and Christian Bouchard, Lindsay and Dan Slaybaugh, Stephen Heyer, Rachel and Sam Kisson, John Christopher Mayer, Lisa and Michael Putnam and Cynthia and Rob Jevarjian. Betty doted on and loved dearly her great-grandchildren Aiden, Ryan, Mackenzie, Olivia, Megan, Sophia, Abigail, Christian, Reagan and baby Kisson due in April. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church, Lordship for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
