Obituary for Evelyn E. Sabins
Evelyn E. Sabins of Fairfield, CT. widow of Allen R. Sabins, and long time companion of John Lasczo passed away peacefully on July 26th 2012 in Saint Vincent's Hospital. She experienced a medical emergency 6 months ago and has been at the Lord Chamberlain Health Center Stratford CT attempting to gain her strength and get back home. Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed her last 20 plus years residing with her friends at the Parish Court Senior Housing complex in Fairfield. Born in Saint Albans, Vermont, June 6, 1923, to Edmund Bartemy and Josephine Young, Evelyn had 3 brothers and 1 sister. She was an excellent student and graduated from St. Vincent's Nursing School when her family moved to CT in 1955. She became a LPN in the Maternity Ward of St. Vincent’s Hospital and remained there for over 20 years. She was the loving mother of Jane Weldon and her husband Tom of Southbury, Sharon Dapp and her husband Freddie of Stratford, Gary Sabins of Shelton, Cindy Felisko of Saint Albans, VT and Christopher Sabins and his wife Lori of Bluffton SC. She also leaves her cherished 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday July 28, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford with a Christian Prayer Service to celebrate her life at 3:45 pm. Interment will be private.
