Serving Our Community Since 1951A graduate of Stratford High School, Florence retired as a Director for ABCD Energy Assistance. She was an avid quilter, loved to cook and enjoyed vacations at their summer home in upstate NY.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her four sons, Michael Stedner and his wife Cindy of Napanoch, NY, Thomas Stedner and his wife Christine of Derby, CT, Jeffrey Stedner and his wife Joyce of Oxford, CT and Jason Stedner and his wife Sarah of Stratford, CT; twelve grandchildren, Shawn, Sara, Nicole, Jennifer, Valerie, Hunter, John, Sarah, Stephanie, Erika, Stephen and Matthew; two brothers, Keith McConnell and his wife Kathy of Stratford and Stuart McConnell and his wife Estelle of Sarasota, FL; one sister, Celeste Riccio and her husband Mike of Newtown and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother and sister, Cheryl Stankiewics and Joseph McGrath.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT. A funeral service will be held Saturday March 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. including vitiation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N Main St, Ellenville, NY. Interment will follow in the Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville, NY.
