Obituary for Frederick H. Moran
Frederick H. "Freddie" Moran, age 82, of Shelton and previously of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Colleen "Sue" (Crounse) Moran passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital. Fred was born August 8, 1933, in Bridgeport, son of the late Frederick and Anna (Lane) Moran and had been a long time Stratford resident until his move to the "Maples Section" of Shelton some years back.
Fred served the town of Stratford as a Police officer for over 35 years where he rose through the ranks to become Captain until an in the line of duty incident forced him to retire.
Survivors include his son–in-law, John Bowe of Millbury, Massachusetts and his partner Catherine Mayotte; daughter-in-law, Katie Moran of Stratford; four grandchildren, Eric, Joseph and Matthew Moran and Daniel Bowe and his wife Laura and a great granddaughter, Hope Colleen Moran.
He was predeceased by his two children, Kevin Moran and Patricia Bowe.
Fred's last wishes were to let his friends and neighbors of the Maple Community know that he loved them all and appreciated all the kindness bestowed on him by them.
Friends are invited to visit with his family on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
Funeral Service and Interment will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT 06897.
