Obituary for Gennaro "Jerry" Verderosa
Gennaro A. "Jerry" Verderosa, age 71, beloved husband of Anastasia "Ann" (Valentine) Verderosa of Stratford, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 9, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital with his family at his bedside. Born in Bridgeport July 9, 1943 son of the late Gennaro Verderosa and Josephine (Dattilo) Verderosa Federico, Jerry resided in Stratford most of his life and retired from Bridgeport Wire Mfg., Stratford. He was a member of the Stratford JC's, the Central Connecticut G Gaugers, Connecticut Air and Space Museum and a collector of old 16mm movies. He loved to garden and share his vegetables with family and friends. In addition to his wife Ann, survivors include a daughter Melissa Verderosa of Ansonia and her long time devoted friend Travis Lopes; a son Jeremy Verderosa and his wife Shannon of Florida; a sister Rosemary Konecky of Trumbull; a brother Louis Federico and his wife Kathryn of North Carolina; four grandchildren Nicholas, Katilyn, Jakob Verderosa and Logan Lopes and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. celebrated by Father Bruce Roby in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
