Obituary for George F. Warmke
George F. Warmke, age 82 of Stratford, beloved husband of Gail R. (Allen) Warmke passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Griffin Hospital, Derby.

Mr. Warmke was born August 10, 1935 in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late George and Martha (Paradick) Warmke and had been a life time area resident. 

George was an Army National Guard Veteran, and the retired owner and operator of Warmke Landscaping in Stratford. He could always be spotted around town wearing his favorite color, yellow. He was a dedicated Usher and volunteer at the Stratford United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He volunteered for numerous organizations in the Town of Stratford including Boy Scouts, Conservation Club, and could always be found gardening at the Stratford United Methodist Church and Union Cemetery. He cooked for the Golden Hill Suppers and Neighborhood Breakfast which helped to feed the homeless.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two children, Greg Warmke and Grace (Warmke) Horvath; grandchildren, Jeannette (Horvath) Watson, Allison (Horvath) McDonald, Kaylyn Warmke, Gina Warmke; two sisters, Virginia(Warmke) Simko and Joan (Warmke) Vojtek, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Gary A. Warmke and brother, Joseph Warmke. 

Friends are invited to attend a service to celebrate his life officiated by Pastor Simeon Law at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, CT.

Friends may visit with the family before service time from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Boys Scouts of America Troop 72, Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615.
