Obituary for Gloria (Allen) Duggan
Gloria Allen Duggan, age 98, lifetime resident of Stratford Ct., passed peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Widow of Simon J. Duggan, daughter of the late Wyatt C. Allen & Margaret Connell Allen.
She graduated from Stratford High School in 1949, while working full time at Chance Vought, building Corsair fighter planes for the war efforts. She then worked for Manning Maxwell & Moore, (Dresser Industries) until she retired. She was a volunteer at the Stratford Historical Society for the next 25 years, doing genealogical research on people and land from Stratford’s distant past. While working there, she took many calls from people around the country, who were looking for information about their ancestors who were from Stratford. Gloria was also on the board of directors at Union Cemetery.
Gloria was predeceased by her husband Simon and son David, four brothers, Wyatt Jr, Sandy, Thomas and sister Tootsie.
The family would like to thank the staff of Live in Advantage Home Care, and her dedicated aids, Michelle, Mo and Stephanie, along with Vitas Hospice Care.

Graveside services will be May 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM, at Union Cemetery, 23 Temple Court, Stratford CT.
