Obituary for Grace (Guckert) Conway
Grace (Guckert) Conway, age 99, of the Lordship section of Stratford, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021. She was the beloved widow of John P. Conway, Sr.
Mrs. Conway was born on February 1, 1921 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Mary (Hellman) and Harry Guckert and had been a lifelong resident of Lordship.
She worked for many years at the Shakespeare Theatre, retired from the Connecticut State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and volunteered at Bridgeport Hospital in her retirement. She was a kind and thoughtful person and was always willing to lend a hand.
Survivors include her devoted and loving daughter Virginia Conway, son John Conway, Jr. (Deborah), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Donahue and son-in-law Charles Albert Donahue.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Nicholas Pavia on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00 am by meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford. Face masks and social distancing are required.
Interment will be private for the family at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
