Serving Our Community Since 1951Hans was a Stratford High School Graduate and attended the Bridgeport Engineering Institute.
He was named the "Stratford Jaycee's Outstanding Young Man of 1968." He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Hans was the Founder and Owner/Operator of American Tech Plastics. He had also worked with his brothers-in-law at Spada's Blue Goose Restaurant and was the former Director of the Stratford Re-development Agency.
He enjoyed sending time with his family, fishing, doing his crossword puzzles and meeting with his buddies at the Germania Scwabben Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his son, Hans Bietsch and his wife Carol of Stratford; four grandchildren, Samantha Holdwick and her husband Jon of Michigan, Alexandra DeBiase and her husband Tony of Trumbull, Hans "Bucky" Bietsch of Shelton and Emma Monos and her husband Timothy of Michigan; five great-grandchildren, Liam, Ethan, Juliet, Anthony and Zachary; his twin brother, Frederick Bietsch and his wife Dorothy of Trumbull; his brother-in-law Frank Spada and his wife Lena; two sisters-in-law, Rita Barbero and Alma Schirillo and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday morning March 23, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Marks's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford for a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friend may visit with his family Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
