Obituary for Henry "Hank" P. McLaughlin
Henry “Hank” Philip McLaughlin, age 86, of Stratford, beloved husband of Martha (Dube) McLaughlin, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. McLaughlin was born October 9, 1935, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, son of the late Henry and Frances (Hurley) McLaughlin.
Hank was a United States Navy Veteran and an accomplished painter and graphic artist. He was a member of the Connecticut Classic Arts and is well known for his print sets of classic Stratford, Connecticut scenes. Henry ran the Remington Arms Art Department for many years. He taught art classes at Saint James Parish Center, and the Famous Artist School. He was an active member of the St. James church community and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a classic joke teller and always had one ready. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, going to the casino with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his three children, Kyle McLaughlin Sr., David McLaughlin and his wife Mary, and Kathleen Swenning and her husband William; six grandchildren Kyle McLaughlin Jr. and his wife Samantha, Amber Upson and her husband Brandon, Joseph McLaughlin and his wife Amanda, Karissa McLaughlin, Hannah Swenning and Jacob Swenning; two great-grandchildren Trenton and Martha McLaughlin and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Brown and Frances Conley.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. by meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2070 Main St, Stratford.
Interment will be private.
Friends may visit with his family, Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615. Face masks will be required.
