Obituary for Irene (Alekson) Wells
Irene (Alekson) Wells, age 83, beloved wife of 63 years to John D. Wells of Stratford entered eternal life Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Wells was born November 26, 1930 in Hartford, daughter of the late John and Mary (Buzsta) Alekson and had been a longtime resident of the Lordship section of Stratford. Irene was a wonderful cook, enjoyed crocheting, bowling and swimming. Most of all, she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and adored her family which includes her four children, Doug Wells and his wife Alynne of Stratford, Debra Mlodzianoski and her husband Paul of Greenville Junction, Maine, Donna Wells and her husband Donald Ireland of Stratford and Derek Wells and his wife Gail of Milford; eleven grandchildren, Douglas Wells and his wife Amanda, Christopher Wells, Michael, Steven and Susan Mlodzianoski, Steven and Joseph Ireland, and Ben, Sam, Emma and Matthew Grace and one great-grandson, John Ryan Michael Wells. She is also survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Irene’s life on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family Thursday before service time from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
