Serving Our Community Since 1951Mr. O'Grady was a United States Army Veteran with the... rank of Sergeant and was on active duty during the Berlin Wall Crisis. He worked for 31 years as a Revenue Officer for the IRS. He also worked for the Social Security Administration and The Stratford Senior Center. After retiring, he co-founded the Stratford Senior Men's Club.
His most enduring quality was his love for his family. He also enjoyed simple pleasures like reading the daily newspaper, traveling and following sports, especially the New York Yankees. One of his enduring memories was of attending the farewell game for Mariano Rivera at Yankee Stadium, where he sat in the upper deck with his sons. Years before, he had taken his sons and their friends to a park in Crestwood and taught them how to play the game.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son James O'Grady of Brooklyn, NY; his son Thomas and Lillian O'Grady of Crestwood, NY and their children Brendan, Catherine and Brian; and his son Paul and Michele O'Grady of Wilton, CT, and their children Emily and Zachary.
