Obituary for James John Santo
James John Santo, age 63, beloved husband of Cathy (Kleitz) Santo, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 11, 2017 with his loving family by his side after a short battle with cancer. Jimi was the son of Marion (Gallagher) Santo and the late Andrew Santo. Born and raised in Bridgeport, Jimi later became a long time resident of Stratford where he was employed at the Orcomatic Company for 25 years. The last few years he resided in Trumbull and worked as a Traffic Controller for Allstate.
Jimi was a history buff and an avid New York sports fan. Some of his greatest loves were spending time with his family, annual trips to Lake George, watching his favorite teams play (the New York Yankees and the New York Giants) and listening to music, especially the 60's. Another one of Jimi's favorite pastimes was bowling, especially with the many leagues he belonged to at the old Town Fair Lanes. A special thank you to all of Jimi's bowling friends for all the fun years of great times and good cheer.Â
Jimi was predeceased by his sister Mary (Santo) Lee. Â In addition to his wife and mother, he also leaves behind his loving Godson and nephew Justin Santo and his wife Heather; his step-children Alexis Gulas and her husband Joseph, Elizabeth Perry and her husband Ross and Alicia Smith; his mother-in-law Frances Kleitz; one brother Andrew Santo; two sisters Joanne Santo and Anna (Santo) Borisovs and her husband Robert; many special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and many loving cousins.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service celebrated by Deacon Timothy Bolton on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family before service time from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Donations in Jimi's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Road, Wilton, CT, or www.cancer.org.
