Obituary for James Kritz
James Kritz, age 80, of Stratford, CT, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 in Bridgeport Hospital. James was born February 11, 1940 in South Bend Indiana, son of the late G. Edward and Olga (Weiss) Kritz.
James was a 1963 graduate of the Art Center of Los Angles and was an award-winning artist and an accomplished photographer, sculptor illustrator and designer.
He was retired from AVCO Lycoming and Walter Teague Associates, NYC, where he worked on projects including designing a bottle of Tide Detergent and the Ruffles Potato Chips bag and many different projects for Boeing Airplanes.
He was an artist and photographer for Stern Ruger and was involved the design of their logo seen worldwide.
He worked with World Wrestling Federation, WWF, now known as the WWE and created their original logo and photographed many of their stars including Hulk Hogan and his work was featured in events worldwide.
He also was commissioned by the Hamilton Collection to create a series of “I Love Lucy” collector plates.
He also worked for Toll Brothers, building luxury houses and for the last twenty years he worked for Hansen and Hansen restoring antique firearms like only he could.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy Jeanne Kritz; grandson, Zachary Kritz; sister, Kathy Hetzel and her husband John; his ex-wife, Nancy (Williams) Kritz; nieces, Yvette Renee, Rhonda and Carrie.
He was predeceased by two sons, James and Aaron Kritz and a brother, J Richard Kritz.
Due to COVID 19 health concerns, all services will be private, A memorial service will be announced in the future.
