Serving Our Community Since 1951James McGrath, 64, of Monroe passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Bridgeport. Jim was born February 27, 1959, in Peterborough, New Hampshire, son of the late John and Patricia (Reck) McGrath.
Jim grew up in the Lordship section of Stratford and was a graduate of Stratford High School (‘77). He attended Waterbury State Technical College before traveling to Newport Beach, California working as a consultant designing circuit boards. A few years later, Jim returned to Connecticut and started his own business, CAD Connections, Inc. His work relationship with OEM Controls eventually led him to join their team in 2015. Jim enjoyed the company of his coworkers at OEM and his job as Senior PC Board Design Engineer. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved the beach, driving his car, and spending time with his niece and nephews.
Survivors include his two siblings, Ed McGrath and his wife Toby and Su Hovey and her husband Steve; 1niece and 4 nephews, Paul Hovey and his fiancée Grace Lessard, Ryan Hovey and his wife as Sara, Megan McGrath, Brian McGrath, and Liam McGrath; several cousins and dear friends, the Coffey Family.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jim’s life with his family on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the William McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615
Friends may visit before service time from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
