Serving Our Community Since 1951Jeanine M. Koetsch, age 82, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Robert C. Koetsch, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Mrs. Koetsch was born October 12, 1940 in New York City, New York, daughter of the late Irene (Coyne) Martin.
At the time of her marriage, Jeanine worked for the Selective Service Board in Stamford. She left her employment to raise her family. During that time, she volunteered in the libraries at Eli Whitney, Flood Junior High, and Bunnell High School. She served as PTA President at Eli Whitney School for three years. Jeanine was very involved in Girl Scouts. She was leader of Brownie Troop 86 in Stratford for several years and later worked full-time for the Housatonic Girl Scout Council in Bridgeport. She was employed by St. Augustine's in Bridgeport as a library clerk and taught CCD at St. Mark's in Stratford. Jeanine retired from the University of Bridgeport as a library assistant for the Chiropractic College.
She leaves behind her beloved family; a daughter Darleen Koetsch and her companion Kevin Hines; a son Robert C. Koetsch II and his wife Darlene Froehlich; a brother Joseph of Midway, Georgia and his wife Sharen, several cousins, two sisters-in-law, Eileen Donnelly and Peggy Liscinsky, a brother-in-law Bernard and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their special thanks and gratitude to neighbors Joe and Michele Brennan for their valued friendship, generosity, and support over the years. Joe and Michele will always have a special place in the family's heart.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly at St. Mark's Church, 900 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, CT. Entombment will follow in St. Michael’s Garden Mausoleum, Stratford Ave, Stratford, CT.
Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615.
