Obituary for John Michael Petrino
Petrino - John Michael Petrino of Bridgeport passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2014. Mr. Petrino, son of the late William Vito Petrino and Beatrice Petrino, was born on February 12, 1947 in Bridgeport and had been a Stratford resident for 20 years. He was a retired Supervisor for Textron Lycoming and had previously worked for Nordons and as a machinist for Universal Manufacturing. In retirement, he followed his passion for automobiles and worked for AutoZone. John loved cars, movies, music, coin collecting and spending time with his family. In the past, he was an active member of Saint Mark's Church. Later in life he moved to Bridgeport and attended St. Margaret Shrine. Survivors include his three children, Jeannette Hirschfield and her husband, Tom, of Southbury, Cheryl Cusa and her husband, Jon, of Westport, and John Michael Petrino and his mother, Mary Petrino, of Stratford. He was also survived by five loving grandchildren, Amber Hirschfield, Kaitlyn Hirschfield, Autumn Hirschfield, Nathan Cusa and Ryann Cusa. Additional survivors include one brother, William P. Petrino Sr. and his wife, Carol, of Beacon Falls, their children, William P. Petrino Jr.and his wife, Lynn, of Easton, Laurie Hill and her husband, Jim, of Woodbridge and Leanne Hovhannissian and her husband, Marc, of Oxford. There is also his first wife Marchelle Berard and several loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. John's family would like to thank cousin Michael DeRosa and Irene Gorton for their love, attention and dedication over the years and at the end of his life. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT followed at 10:00 a.m. by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private.
