Obituary for Johnny Bob "JB" Bell Sr.
Johnny Bob Bell Sr., 76, of Stratford and previously of Norwalk, beloved husband of 57 years to Virginia (Richardson) Bell, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family by his side.

JB, as he was affectionately known, was born in Albany, Georgia, November 22, 1942, the son of the late Major and Polly Ann (Shelton) Bell. 

JB was a retired supervisor and truck driver for Pepperidge Farms. He also worked security at Wilton High School until his recent illness.  

He loved to read the bible, enjoyed cooking, bowling, spending time with his family, and meeting people with a smile.  

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his four adored children, Logoi “Kitty" Davis, Carol Cook, Lorraine Bell and Johnny Bell Jr.; seven grandchildren Malcolm Green and his wife Samerah, Andre’ Green, Yanique Dash, Eric Dash, Paulette Dash-Stewart and her husband William, Chae Dash and Sean Bell; eight great-grandchildren Hannah, Jayden, Mathias, Kai, Evianna, Addison, Lydia and Amiah and many other family members, as well as his loyal friend, Gene Johnson.  

He was predeceased by his siblings, Willie Mae Bell, Mertis Harris and Herbert Eugene Bell.

Grandpa, An example of a strong man.
When God made you, you was definitely one of a kind.
You lived and now you live.
You smiled and told jokes through any circumstance.
You always tried to make everyone smile.
Grandpa, you loved your kids, grandkids
and loved your wife everybody knew Grandma was truly your rib.
Now that your gone, with our memories
You live...
We love you Grandpa...

Friends are invited to attend his funeral service officiated by Pastor Ariel on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at the Silliman Memorial Baptist Church, 1728 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06605.

Entombment will follow in Saint Michael’s Garden Mausoleum, Stratford.

Friends may visit with his family Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT.
