Obituary for Joseph Arthur Reilly, Jr.
Joseph Arthur Reilly, Jr., age 85, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Angeski) Reilly, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022. Mr. Reilly was born October 4, 1936 in Bridgeport, son of the late Joseph A. and Emily (Kekac) Reilly, Sr.
Joe was a lifelong area resident and was a retired Firefighter and Pump Engineer after 30 years of dedicated service from the Bridgeport Fire Department. In his free time, Joe enjoyed spending time with his immediate and extended family. He will be deeply missed by his family and loved ones.
Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Joseph A. Reilly, III (Karen) of Shelton, Timothy Reilly (Terri) of Stratford, Jean Reilly of Stratford, Judith Reilly Joss (James) of Shelton, George Reilly (Pamela) of Elgin, MN; his brothers, John Reilly (Judy) of Stratford, James Reilly (Janet) of Stratford, Michael Reilly (Charlene) of Shelton; his sister-in-law Rosemary Reilly of Trumbull; eight grandchildren, Kristina Reilly Amaro (David), Timothy P. Reilly, Jr. (Sharon Oram-Reilly), Michelle Reilly Strumello (Sean), Nichole Reilly (fiancé Joseph Mauro), James Joss V, Jillian Joss Beaumont (Peter) and Erik Joss; nine great-grandchildren, Daniel Amaro, Peyton Proto, Gianni Reilly, Aria Reilly, Maxim Reilly, Rylie Faye Beaumont, Mia Rose Strumello, Ava Madeline Strumello and Antonio Joseph Mauro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother Timothy C. Reilly; sister Carol Dota and her husband Anthony; and grandson Joseph A. Reilly, IV.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton, CT 06484. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT. The family will have a Celebration of Life at 6:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
