Obituary for Julia Patricia Berger
Julia Patricia Berger, affectionately known as Pat, age 88, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late George "Les" Berger, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. Born in Bridgeport July 29, 1928, daughter of the late Clarence and Hilda Gerry, she was a lifelong area resident.Â
Pat was a fiercely loyal and compassionate person; generous and empathetic woman. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends especially her great grandchildren. She looked forward to winters in Florida, family trips to MA to see her nieces and nephews, reunions, card games and a quiet cup of tea with a friend. She loved to spoil her family and friends with affection, attention and the simple gesture of a handwritten card. She celebrated all holidays big and small and any reason to have a party. She was also an avid reader, sports fan and die hard Yankees fan.  She was a manager with the former Barker's Department Store, Bridgeport.
Survivors include her devoted daughter Gloria Paoli and her husband Charles of Milford; two grandchildren Brian Paoli and Gina DiGiacomo and her husband Michael; four great grandchildren Charles, Roman, Claudia and Gabriella.Â
Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. in the funeral home. Â
