Obituary for Katherine "Kay" Marie (Harty) Spodnick
Katherine “Kay” Marie (Harty) Spodnick, age 84, beloved wife of Frank Spodnick Sr. passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Kay was born August 31, 1934 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Katherine (Lee) Harty and was a life time area resident.
She was a retired registered nurse and a graduate of the Saint Vincent School of Nursing. She was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of Saint James Church, volunteering in many capacities, including collecting and distributing items to the less fortunate every month.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her devoted children, Frank Spodnick and his wife Barbara of Stratford, Karen Taylor and her husband John of North Haven, Pat Pettinato and her husband John of Vermont, and Aileen Marsh of Stratford; grandchildren Mark Carraro, Jessica Carraro, Lauren Pettinato, Christine Pettinato, Caroline Pettinato, Jeanine Marsh, and Glenn Marsh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, James and Jack Harty.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Arthur Mollenhauer on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit with her family Sunday afternoon, October 14, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
