Obituary for Katherine "Kay" Troiano
Katherine "Kay" (Dunn) Troiano, age 95, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Paul Troiano, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 2, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Troiano was born December 12, 1921 in Mount Gilead, North Carolina, daughter of the late Marvin and Nell (Maske) Dunn.
Kay was a retired pediatric nurse at Bridgeport Hospital. She was an avid golfer and member of the Tashua Knolls Women's Nine Holers, who also enjoyed traveling, reading as well as cooking and baking for her family.
She is survived by three sons, Paul J. Troiano and his wife Suzanne of Roswell, GA, Barry C. Troiano of Trumbull and Mark J. Troiano and his wife Judith of Eliot, ME; three grandsons, Trent S. Troiano, Ryan M. Troiano and his wife Blair and Justin M. Troiano; three great-grandchildren, Trey S. Troiano, Brooklyn Troiano and Reese Troiano; a sister-in-law, Peggy Troiano and brother-in-law Charles Sutton; several nieces and nephews and dear friends Hilda Bobela and Rose Misurale.
The family would like to thank the staff of Vitas Hospice for all the loving care they provided.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford officiated by Fr. Tom Lynch. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull. Friends may visit with her family Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's memory may be made to Vitas Hospice, 488 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06851.
