Obituary for Katherine (VanRossum) Mazza
Katherine (VanRossum) Mazza, age 96, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late John Mazza passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital.
Mrs. Mazza was born May 22, 1922 in Santa Cruz, California, daughter of the late Grover and Elizabeth (Arena) VanRossum and had been a longtime Stratford resident.Â
Katherine was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft and enjoyed, bowling, Knitting reading and her trips to the casino.
Survivors include her three children, Dorothy Shackett of Stratford, William Mazza and his wife Cherry of Shanghai, China and Paul Mazza of Storrs, CT.; one sister, Irma Gaplan of California; six grandchildren, Nichole Babcock and her husband Wes, Frank Mazza, Anthony Mazza and his wife Jenifer, Daniel Mazza and his wife Katrina, Adriana Mazza and Peter Mazza; three great-grandchildren, Bianca, Angelina and Cameron and many nieces and nephews.Â
She was predeceased by two sons, David and John Mazza; a grandson, John Mazza and son-in-law, Francis Shackett and two sisters, Dorothy and Irene.Â
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly in Saint James Church, 2020 Main St., Stratford.Â
Entombment will follow in Saint Michael’s Garden Mausoleum. Stratford.
