Obituary for Leonardo Perez-Rivera
Leonardo Perez-Rivera, age 80, of Bridgeport and previously of Norwich, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital.
“Pete” as he was known to friends and family was born September 28, 1938 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, son of the late Leonardo and Esperanza (Rivera) Perez and had been a longtime area resident.
Pete was a United States Army Veteran and a retired bus driver. He enjoyed his trips to the casino and fishing and crabbing with his brother.
Survivors include his five children, Freddie, Bobby, Hilda, Max and Joanne; two brothers, Carlos Perez and his wife Norma and Edwin Perez and his partner Lucy; an uncle Ismeal, a special cousin, Yolanda and a special niece and nephew, Glenda and Joseph and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by a son, Ricardo and a brother Joseph.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service celebrated by Deacon John Piatak on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
Military honors will follow at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday before service time from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
