Serving Our Community Since 1951Lewis “Gus” Michael Gallick SR, age 84, of Shelton, previously of Stratford, long time partner of Mary Ann Kotwica, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Bridgeport Hospital. Gus was born November 23, 1937, in Bridgeport, son of the late James and Gertrude (Naylor) Gallick and had been a lifelong area resident.
He was retired from the Stratford Public Works Department as well as a part time bartender for Ye Olde Restaurant, Duckpin Lounge and Epicurean Caterers, Plus a member of the Gaelic American Club. He enjoyed playing softball, cards, hunting, watching football, baseball and especially UCONN Women’s basketball. Gus loved visitors and a good party and was called the “Mayor” of Little Fawn Drive. He regularly would go sit outside on the front porch and the neighborhood knew it was time to round up and join him for great conversations and laughs over coffee. Halloween was one of his favorite holidays. It was always an open house for any of the neighbors to knock on the door and be invited to have a drink at the bar.
Survivors in addition to Mary Ann include his three children, Lewis Gallick JR and his wife Holly, James Gallick and his partner Sandy and Julie Bobko and her husband Kevin; five Grandchildren Crystal McLaine, Patrick (Rosalind) McLaine, Steven (Brittany) McLaine, Michael Gallick, and Clayton Bobko; three Great Grandchildren Mason Kelly, John McLaine and Joey McLaine; three siblings James Gallick, Regina Miller and Veretta Michaud and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Francis (Frank) Gallick.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton, CT.
Interment will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday morning before Mass time from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615.
