Obituary for Lillian Elmira O'Gara
Lillian Elmira O'Gara, age 97, of Stratford, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 after a wonderful life, in her home surrounded by her friends and family. Lillian was born May 28, 1918 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Boyle) O'Gara and had been a life time area resident.
She was retired from Textron after 30 years on the assembly line. Lillian's love was to help people, shop and travel. She was an avid quilter and master seamstress.
Lillian was a beloved sister, aunt and great-aunt and will be truly missed. She leaves behind her sister Mickey Hamilton and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Her greatest love and challenge was her great-nephew, David Zaccaria; having no children of her own, David became her son. Their bond is inseparable now and in heaven. Until we meet again....
She was a devoted sister to her siblings, including Mickey and the late Elmer, Thomas, Donald and Mary Lou.
Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly in Our Lady of Grace Church 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, CT. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford, CT.
