Obituary for Lydia (Ianniello) Ciotti
Lydia Palma (Ianniello) Ciotti, age 93, of the Lordship section of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Antonio Ciotti Jr., passed away Sunday February 12, 2017 in her home. Mrs. Ciotti was born March 25, 1923 in Stratford, daughter of the late Anthony and Philomena (Somma) Ianniello and had been a life time Stratford resident.
She was a fantastic cook, enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Our Lady of Peace Ivy Leaguers.
Survivors include her three children, Linda Edwards of Schaumberg, Illinois, Sharon Samela and her husband John of Shelton and Anthony Ciotti of Stratford; seven grandchildren, Robin Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, Karissa Edwards, Amy St. Juste and her husband Eddie, Michael Thibodeau, Brian Thibodeau, Jennifer Van Bomel and her husband Tom; eight great grandchildren, Anna Van Bomel, Kayla Edwards, Hanna Edwards, Devin Edwards, Jeremiah Edwards, Corey Frazier Jr., Andre Agee and Alijah Agee; one brother Anthony Ianniello and his wife Dotty; one sister, Nancy Murray and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, John Ianniello, a sister, Lucy Burton and two grandchildren, Anthony Edwards and Evon Edwards.
The family would also like to thank Karen Fox for several years of service as companion and aide.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass of Christian Burial of Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly in Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford, Rd, Stratford, CT. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St. Stratford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
