Obituary for Margaret Anne Sharpe
Sharpe - Margaret Anne (Fallon) Sharpe, age 97, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Robert Sharpe, Sr., passed away peacefully in St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Mrs. Sharpe was born January 4, 1918 in Medford Massachusetts, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Honora A. (Hughes) Fallon. Margaret was a longtime area resident and started her profession as a private duty nurse. She then went back to Sacred Heart University and received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Master's Degree in Education. Her education served her well in her profession, both as a Social Worker for the State of Connecticut and as an Instructor at UCONN from which she retired. She was active in the Democratic Party and had served as and a past treasurer, she enjoyed and was involved in the theatre, was a member of the Stratford Library Board, did volunteer grief counseling at the Baldwin Center and was active and volunteered in many capacities in St. James Church. But most precious to Margaret was her family. Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Terceno and her husband Jack of Stratford and Kathleen Garvey of Spartanburg, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Debbie Mackbach and her husband Paul, Suzanne Petersen and her husband Ron, Sandra Leslie and her husband Kevin, Jack Terceno and his companion Regina, Kim Hathaway and her husband Steve and Donald Garvey; great-great grandchildren, Brittany and her husband Oskar, Ryan, Caitlin and her partner Avery, Taryn, Kyle, Jennifer, Courtney, Brendan, Stephanie and her husband Brian and Anna Kathleen; five great-great grandchildren, Madison, Kayleigh, Caleb, Cora and Matthew and a son-in-law, Thomas Murray. She was predeceased by two sons, Robert Sharpe, Jr. and Larry Sharpe; son-in-law, Elmer Garvey; a granddaughter, Robin Murray; two great-grandchildren, twin brothers, Justin and Ryan and a sister, Mary Hughes. Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St. Stratford, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
