Obituary for Margaret Mary ( Hughes) Pulkkinen
Margaret Mary (Hughes) Pulkkinen, age 66, of Ansonia, beloved wife of Dwight Pulkkinen entered eternal life Monday, May 12, 2014 in St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Pulkkinen was born November 14, 1947 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Lee) Hughes and had been a lifetime area resident. Margaret was retired from the Admissions Department of Albertus Magnus College. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and was an avid NY Yankee fan as well as a NASCAR racing fan. Survivors, in addition to her beloved husband, include her four children Margaret M. O’Reilly and her husband Timothy of Ansonia, Erik Pulkkinen and his wife Christina of Beacon Falls, Mark Pulkkinen of Seymour and Karen Pulkkinen of Ansonia; two brothers, Ken Hughes and his wife Patty of Milford and William Hughes and his wife Patty of Naugatuck; four grandchildren, Megan O’Reilly, Colleen O’Reilly, Alexis Strode and Erik Pulkkinen and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford and at 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 2070 Main St, Stratford for a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Father Peter Cipriani. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
